Every 10,000 Miles
After one year or 10,000 miles of driving, whichever milestone is hit first, it'll be time to have the oil changed. This is the time for what Audi calls the first minor maintenance visit, where our technicians will have a chance to see your car for the first time.
The oil change ensures your engine is able to run as it should. That silky-smooth amber-hued oil protects the engine. If the oil isn't changed, it can turn a thick black color.
We'll also check the brake pads at this point. Brake pads will usually last around 40,000 miles, but it's a good idea to check them at this point just to be sure. A multi-point inspection will be included as part of this minor maintenance visit.
Every 20,000 Miles
After you've been driving for two years or 20,000 miles, there are a number of important services that need to be performed. This standard maintenance will be handled every 20,000 miles or two years after the last standard maintenance visit.
The minor maintenance items mentioned at the 10,000-mile interval will be performed at this point, too.
Included in the 20,000-mile service:
- Visually inspect body/chassis for corrosion/paint damage
- Check the brake system and hoses
- Check antifreeze levels
- Check interior lights, trunk lights, and glove box compartment illumination
- Replace wiper blades
- Check inflation pressure of tires
Every 60,000 Miles
Every 60,000 miles, the A5 will need to have the air filter replaced. Swapping out your old, dirty air filter with a high-quality new one will ensure your engine is able to breathe.
