Q7 vs XC90 Performance
The 2019 Audi Q7 comes standard with a powerful engine. It's a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 248 horsepower. The XC90 has a similar engine, a 2.0-liter engine that generates 250 horsepower.
The Audi Q7 comes standard with quattro® all-wheel drive. Not only does this feature deliver better grip on wet roads, but it also helps when heading around tight corners even when the roads are dry. The Volvo, meanwhile, comes standard with front-wheel drive, and you'll have to pay more to get all-wheel-drive functionality.
The Audi Q7 also features standard Drive Select, giving you the ability to manually choose driving modes. This can adjust the ride feel to your preferences, which include Comfort, Dynamic, Auto, and Off-Road options.

Q7 vs XC90 Interior Amenities
Inside the Q7, there's standard seating for seven, with genuine leather upholstery that looks great and feels even better. The Volvo XC90 has added standard seating for seven in the 2019 edition, which is a new feature. It previously had standard seating for five. While that is an upgrade to compete with the Q7, the Volvo XC90 still isn't competing material-wise with synthetic leather as the standard offering.
The Audi Q7 offers 41.7 inches of front passenger legroom, compared to the front seat legroom in the XC90, which measures in at 40.9 inches. In the back, the latest edition of the Q7 also has more legroom, perfect for drivers who often travel with numerous passengers.
Tech Features
Both the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 come standard with a large central display screen where you'll have complete control over the infotainment system. A 10-speaker audio system and Bluetooth® connectivity come standard in both SUVs, so you'll be able to play all your favorite songs. They'll sound pretty darn good, too.
In addition, both SUVs feature a rearview camera along with safety features, such as forward collision warning and automatic braking.
Optional audio features in the Audi Q7 include a 19-speaker surround-sound stereo along with a 23-speaker sound system. While the XC90 does have powerful sound systems, it can't match the 23-speaker setup in the Q7.
